The 2008 16th ICARMA Annual Meeting was hosted by China Refrigeration and Air- Conditioning Industry Association (CRAA) in September in Xi’an, China. The manufacturers participated the meeting are Carrier, C&D and Daikin.

 

The meeting was attended by delegates representing air conditioning and commercial refrigeration manufacturers from the council’s seven member countries: Brazil, Canada, China, Europe, Japan, Korea and the United States. The agenda covered a range of global refrigeration topics including:

• Global refrigerants strategy. Anecdotal evidence has been collected of the industry’s responsible refrigerant use. The information will be compiled into a single document and used as a tool to globally promote the industry’s responsible use initiatives.

• Technician training. ICARMA members shared the information on technician training programs with their respective countries to identify opportunities for expansion.

• Standards harmonization. ICARMA approved a standards ranking process for recommending to ISO, IEC, and other major standards bodies priority areas where standards are needed.
